Mossa

Mario Scairato

An armchair to suit the sitter in steadiness and mobility.

Mossa is a rocking chair designed for personal domestic spaces earmarked for rest and reflection.

Mario Scairato

Born in Paestum in 1989, he lives and works in Milan, where he deals with furniture and product design and art direction.
Classical architecture, the myth and natural heritage of his homeland, have been a constant source of inspiration for his work. In it he researches and explores the expressive forms of design with an innovative and contemporary approach.
His design is notable for its vigorous graphic appeal, the immediacy of its forms and its unerring use of colour.
Designs by him have been exhibited at the Milan Triennale, ADI Design Museum, Rossana Orlandi Gallery, Casa do Design Matosinhos, and Design Museum Holon.
He has designed products for numerous Italian names, including Abet Laminati, Alessi, Bulgari, Dnd, Internoitaliano, Lispi, Lithea, Moleskine and Tenuta Vannulo.
His art direction for the Lispi four-poster bed brand was selected for the ADI Design Index 2024.

Its padded seat is supported by curved iron tubes that envelop the frame and back of the chair and define its continous shape: like a line, a simple outline that envelops and defines the armchair.

The tubular parts are interconnected by hand-forged iron rings: an expressive structural detail that also heightens a tension between rigidity and fluidity. Mossa’s upholstering is available in cream, red, and dark green.
