The tatami and the canopy bed merge to create domestic architectures that combine functions, spaces and ways of living.

Tatamino is a “canopy tatami” that hybridise the West and Japan: placed on the canopy platform is a traditional tatami, with added mattress or cushions as desired, for alternative uses and configuration.

Tatamino is available in two versions: 100×200 cm (single tatami, single mattress) and 200×200 cm (double tatami, double mattress). In the smaller model, the system reveals a dual purpose: on one side as a bed or sofa with a wooden partition, and on the other as a desk, shelf, side table, or space to be personalized.
Tatamino’s bearing frame comprises interlocking square iron posts – a feature of Japanese architecture – where, by contrast, the joints remain visible.
The wooden headboard can be covered, or perforated to incorporate useful shelves.
